Global Payments Innovator Verrency Appoints Alan Sharfman as CFO

Australian global payments provider Verrency has appointed seasoned finance executive Alan Sharfman as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective immediately.

With over 20 years of national and international executive experience, Sharfman has successfully assisted some of Australia’s fastest growing companies in the planning, implementation and execution of their business strategies. Having spent many years as a leading corporate CFO and company director, Sharfman excels at providing a wonderful balance between strategic management, risk mitigation and financial optimisation.

Based in Melbourne, Sharfman joins Verrency to lead its financial operations and will work closely with the CEO David Link to drive investor relations and board matters.

“I am very pleased to welcome Alan to Verrency. His extensive experience as a CFO, along with his strong board and investor relations expertise, are assets that we will leverage as Verrency scales the business,” Link said.

Sharfman said: “Verrency is one of the most unique companies that I’ve seen in a long time and I am excited to be joining the team as CFO, helping to drive the company forward and optimise its financial functions. Verrency’s platform is a first-of-its-kind service that unites innovative financial services and makes them simple for FIs to rapidly deploy – and that’s exciting.”

Verrency is a provider on the global scene enabling card issuers and financial institutions to deliver the latest payment capabilities and curated FinTech services quickly and cost effectively through their existing payment networks.

About Verrency
Verrency provides world-leading enterprise-grade payments services for card issuers, merchant issuers, processors, and other digital financial services institutions. Verrency is a scheme-agnostic, white-label, “payments-innovation-as-a-service” open-API platform that helps card issuers acquire new customers and increase their share-of-wallet of existing customers while also significantly increasing security, control, and IoT connectibility. Verrency works behind-the-scenes – enabling everything from 2nd generation payments controls to aggregation to loyalty/ rewards spend to digital currency spend – quickly and easily with no change to existing payments rails, connections, or point-of-sale terminals. Verrency also enables rapid connection to 3rd party fintech services with little to no integration.
